OBJECTIVES: The poster aims to capture the attention of potential viewers and generate curiosity about the show. Its striking and symbolic design, featuring the handmaid's uniform and bonnet, is intended to make people want to learn more about the series. I used a minimalist design and color scheme to set the tone for the show, creating a sense of urgency. It hints at the bleak and oppressive world in which the story is set.

DESIGN PROBLEM: The poster shows how the characters are fighting back, becoming stronger, and dealing with the problems of their messed-up society. At the same time, it should still look like something from The Handmaid's Tale that fans will recognize and relate to. Use the red outfits and white bonnets that people know from the show. Include a mix of characters from the series to highlight their unity and strength together.
DESIGN PROCESS: I started researching the series, its characters, and the evolving themes across seasons. And identified key visuals and symbols associated with The Handmaid's Tale that should retained in the poster. I seek inspiration from other impactful movie posters that effectively convey complex themes. The poster, website, and mobile app showcase the images of the protagonist and the other elements of the drama. I matched the font, color scheme, and design with the feel of the poster, website, and mobile app. I also included multiple key characters from the series to showcase their unity and collective strength.
DESIGN SOLUTION: The poster maintains the iconic red handmaid's uniform and white bonnet as central elements, but they are transformed into symbols of empowerment and resistance. It conveys the journey from oppression to empowerment and encourages viewers to engage with the show's thought-provoking narrative.
